EUROSON 2024 in Naples
Another highly successful Congress!

Beautifully sunny and warm weather greeted us in Naples for the well anticipated Euroson 2024 Congress. Held in the historic Congress Centre Stazione Maritime, the buzz of excitement was palpable as we joined the queue of participants mounting the esculator making their way towards the registration desks for Day 1 of the event.

What greeted us was a well organised, knowledgeable and highly informative programme of lectures covering various topics on Ultrasound. The quality of the scientific sessions were exceptional and made for a memorable few days in Naples. Industry support was excellent and the social events gave us all time to slow down, mingle and exchange views on the latest ultrasound techinques.

EFSUMB at UEG

EFSUMB was delighted to have been invited to conduct the Ultrasound hands-on programme at UEG again this year from October 12 to 15, 2024.

Ultrasonography for the Gastroenterologist – "See with Sound Inside the Abdomen"

The UEG Ultrasound Programme promotes the role of a major diagnostic and interventional tool in gastroenterology: clinical ultrasonography in the hands of the gastroenterologist.

All UEG Week participants were invited to explore the "world of imaging with sound". This year the Ultrasound programme offered basic and postgraduate courses on ultrasonography, individual hands-on training, and special lectures in abdominal
ultrasonography. It is specially designed for both young and senior gastroenterologists, with or without experience in ultrasonography, and also for those with interest in the new developments in ultrasound-based techniques.

The hands-on programme was a huge sucess with over 450 attendees to the Ultrasound Learning Area.

Safety Committee TQA Survey

Technical Quality Assurance (TQA) Procedure for Ultrasound Systems in Clinical Practice - Survey

The purpose of this survey is to assess whether technical ultrasound assurance procedures are implemented in clinical practice today over Europe. EFSUMB (ECMUS) has published a guideline of technical quality assurance procedures (DOI http://dx.doi.org/10.1055/s-0032-1325347) long time ago in 2012.

Your information will help us for updating this old guideline and provide you with more specific assistance and support on this topic.
The survey takes approximately 10 minutes to complete. The survey was approved by ExB of EFSUMB.
Taking part in this study is completely voluntary and your answers remain anonymous.

By completing the survey, you are consenting to participate in the study. You have the right to withdraw at any time by simply exiting the survey.

If you wish to contact the study group, please send an e-mail to me. Thank you.

EFSUMB Student Summer School
One of the most important strategic goals of the European Federation of Societies for Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology (EFSUMB) is to improve medical students' ultrasound education. The medical students who are enthusiastic about ultrasound are the future of ultrasound in Europe and the future of EFSUMB. We have established Young EFSUMB with a Students' committee and Students' Ultrasound Congresses (STUC) among other things. The enthusiasm of the participating medical students is amazing and vital and crucial for our future development.

Not all European countries support medical students' ultrasound education at universities and in the national ultrasound societies. This is why EFSUMB, with the support of the International Federation of Medical Students Associations (IFMSA), has decided to create a new Euroson Students' Summer School to support medical students and 1st and 2nd year residents in learning how to use ultrasound and to teach their fellow students and young.

We kindly invite you to participate in the very first EFSUMB summer school in Berlin from September 4 - 6, 2025 in Hotel Aquino, very close to the vibrant city center of Berlin and the famous Charite hospital with links to names as Rudolf Virchow, Robert Koch and Ferdinand Sauerbruch. Please share the invitation with your fellow students.
The program with its two levels is designed for real beginners, but also for medical students and young residents with some basic experience in ultrasound. We have included many live demonstrations and hands-on sessions in the program, will combine learning with entertainment, interactive cases, brainstorming, exchange of views and experiences, and learning how to teach your fellows students.

We warmly invite you to join us for the next step of our Young EFSUMB project!
Looking forward to meeting you in Berlin in September 2025.
